Abstract. Life safety education in Chinese general education institutions began rather late, and in the initial period it did not meet the established state standards, was not streamlined, and varied greatly depending on the region. As a result, university applicants had large knowledge gaps in this area. The article discusses the directions of research by Chinese scientists in the scientific and educational field “Life Safety” in the People’s Republic of China at the beginning of the 21st century. It is noted that the restructuring of teaching of this discipline significantly increases the level of security activities and a safe environment in universities.
