Abstract. The article discusses the features of professionally important qualities of
university teachers in the course of labour socialisation. It was established that the system of psychological and pedagogical protection of university teachers, whose action is aimed at eliminating traumatic emotional experiences associated with indecision, anxiety, and stress, can be considered as an adaptive system. It is shown that the effectiveness of professional adaptation is equally ensured by the formation of professionally important qualities of university teachers.
