Abstract. This article discusses the results of the study on value orientations of senior preschool children. A multifaceted analysis of the relationship of 5–6-year-old children to family, city, country as objects of social environment is considered. Particular attention is paid to the formation of the civil position of a modern child. According to the results of the study, it was established that children of older preschool age show interest in all objects of social reality (family, city, country, subject environment, the world of adults and children). The statements of children, their original answers are of particular interest. The practical significance of the study is obvious, teachers of preschool educational organisations can use the obtained data in their work with children.
