DISTANCE EDUCATION: THE DEFINITION AND CURRENT PRINCIPLES

Abstract. The article is aimed at understanding the concept of distance learning, approaches to the definition of this phenomenon and its fundamental principles. The analysis of various interpretations of distance learning may contribute to understanding of the essence of the phenomenon and tracing of its historical transformation. Based on existing theoretical experiences, the study discusses the issue of distance learning as well as its current principles within modern conditions.
