The goal of the study is to examine the peculiarities of the Baroque synthesis of arts through the prism of the theoretical doctrines and artistic practices in that period. The paper focuses on the issues of the synthesis of arts, the sociocultural situation of that period, and the features of the synthetic artistic practices in various branches of arts within the Baroque period. The novelty of the study is in the development of the idea that the phenomenon of the synthesis generated new forms and genres in the artistic practices of the Baroque period. The results of the analytical study lead the authors to the conclusion that the search for the artistic synthesis within the Baroque period was an effective attempt to fi nd new pathways in arts.
