Contemporary marine art is based on two opposite categories — forms of abstract and fi gurative arts. However, there are new paintings that can be placed on the boundary of these categories. These works are hard to classify by following the traditional theory of art, therefore the author of the present paper offers to expand the theoretical boundaries of abstract and fi gurative arts.
