FORMATION OF PROFESSIONAL READINESS OF TEACHERS TO IMPLEMENT THE MODEL OF CIVIC EDUCATION

The  article  deals  with  topical  issues  of  formation  of  teachers’  professional  readiness to implement the model of civic education. Attention is drawn to the individuality of a  history  teacher,  his/her  personal  qualities,  educational  function,  and  high  level  of professional responsibility. It is pointed out that modern society places serious demands on  erudition  of  history  teachers,  their  general  culture,  professional  ethics,  creativity, and, consequently, on the system of their training. The article considers the model of civic education, which is formed and developed in the educational system of a general education institution and occupies an important place in the education of patriotism of citizens of a rule-of-law state. The author focuses on the importance of studying the historical heritage, folk art, national traditions, and historical experience of the Russian people as a powerful factor in civic patriotic education.
