DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNICAL SKILLS AT THE INITIAL STAGE OF INTRODUCING CHILDREN TO PIANO PLAYING

The paper deals with the problem of teaching young pianists in China. Based on the 
training  and  pedagogical  experience  and  professional  observations,  the  author  of  the paper  reveals  the  main  shortcomings  of  the  piano  methodology  in  the  country.  The emphasis is on shortcomings in teaching children the basics of piano technique at the initial stage. The novelty of the paper lies in the fact that for the Brst time it substantiates the expediency of including Russian teaching aids in the pedagogical practice of Chinese musicians, both time-proved (A. Artobolevskaya’s manual) and innovative ones (Zh. Peresvetova’s manual). SpeciBc recommendations are given for working with the named learning aids.
