Different regional environments and cultural background have
brought different looks to Russian and Chinese artistic concepts and
artistic creations. They have different manifestations in terms of the
subject matter, form of work, and art understanding. This paper stipu-
lates three aspects: 1. background of forming Russian and Chinese
watercolor art styles, 2. different creative ideas, 3. characteristics of
Russian and Chinese watercolors for processing the pictures, and the
reasons behind these different formations. All the aspects are aimed
at better understanding of the national style features of Russian and
Chinese watercolor painting.
