The article discusses the main stages of development of virtual
exhibitions. Different types of virtual exhibitions are analysed,
their pros and cons are described. The stage of setting goals and
objectives, writing technical specifi cations is studied in detail.
Special emphasis is placed on designing a virtual exhibition
taking into account the goals and needs of the viewer.
