The paper is dedicated to the two most noticeable compositions of
the talented Chinese composer Nie Er in the sphere of film music.
The paper carries out a structural and harmonious analysis of
the songs, cites some phrases of the poetic text in order to reveal
its contents and provides for music examples. Nie Er was one of
the first national composers who masterfully combined Chinese
pentatonism and traditional European major and minor keys in
his art.
