The paper considers China and Russia as comprehensive strategic
partners. Culture is a key factor that determines the possibility of
further profound cooperation between the countries. In spite of
cultural differences, China and Russia have a lot in common. China
needs Russia. in its power, whereas Russia needs infl uential China.
Awareness of cultural differences between China and Russia leads
to effective communication. Strengthening Sino-Russian cultural ties
can contribute to common development of the two countries in the
spheres of politics, economy, culture, science and military activities.
