As one of the main groups of gender lexis, the lexis that denotes kinship plays an important role in expressing gender opposition. Most of the vocabulary, denoting the kinship terms, represents semantic pairs, like husband-wife, father-in-law – mother-in-law, grandfather-grandmother in Russian. The authors analyze this type of vocabulary in Russian
and Chinese in terms of the form, semantics and distribution.
