COMPENSATORY ABILITIES OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS IN BASIC MUSIC EDUCATION

 The article deals with the results of the research on compensatory abilities of children
with disabilities. Readers will be able to understand more clearly the importance of music
education for these children, who can be divided into 3 groups. The first group is formed
by children having problems with their vision, in the second group there are children with
mental disorders; studying music helps to stabilise their mood, improve intellectual abilities and language skills. The third group consists of children-autists, they have a “superability” to focus on doing one single thing that performs a compensatory function. If they like something they can do it for a long time without interruption. These incredible diligence and ability to concentrate are what ordinary people in many cases tend to lack.
