The ways of optimising the formation of foreign language communicative competence
of mathematics and computer science students are under discussion. It is proved
experimentally that the consideration of students’ cognitive abilities, namely the interhemispheric asymmetry and activation of certain sensory perception channels, increases the level of this competence.
