The article examines the role of the representative of the Oxford movement V. Palmer in the development of relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Anglican church in the 1840s. From the start of relationship between the Orthodox Christians and
the Anglicans it was a full-fl edged and serious dialogue including consideration of accession by V. Palmer to Orthodoxy. This dialogue also touched upon the commonality and difference between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Anglican church.
