The paper is devoted to the formation of experience in distinction and distinguishness
among students of art higher educational institutions. The author briefl y describes the
current state of the process of creating an art composition. The development of creative
abilities of students, their composition skills indicate the origin of thinking aimed not at
recognition of objects by means of categories, but at collision with something unrecognisable. Respectively, the author considers that a student creating a composition has to be focused not so much on search for decisions, as on forming the experience of distinction of potentials and intensities.
