The multicultural, integrative and paternalistic models of the Russian national identity are
identified and analysed in the paper in the regional aspect. With regard to the North Caucasus region, the author substantiates the integrative model of the Russian civilisational identity, based on the imperatives of modernisation and globalisation, preserving traditional ethnocultural grounds that are fastened with the “Russian cultural core”.
