The authors of the paper show the role of the right hemisphere holistic perception
characteristics, cognitive and affective components of self-image in speech development
on the basis of the empirical research on a group of 90 children aged 3 to 6 years old,
involving the following methods: drawing a man, homunculus, finishing drawing and
colouring of contour images of real objects. The cognitive component plays the greatest
role at the age of 3, and the affective component – at the age of 6, which gives evidence
of the cross management of parietal cortex structures in speech development.
