The paper is devoted to considering the term “professional competencies of a
psychologist” according to the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher
Professional Education (FSES of HPE) in the context of the subject’s activity. The
author reveals a contradiction between the forming professional competencies of future
specialists according to the FSES of HPE in the course of learning and professional
competencies that are demanded by psychologists’ future work. The possible solutions
for this contradiction are discussed.
