This article is dedicated to one of the methods of learning a foreign language — tandem, which not only allows you to intensify the contemporary learning process, but also allows you to enhance the ability of independent work to learn a foreign language. The article describes the criteria for the selection of teaching materials for binational groups: the use of authentic texts; information binding to the contents of the studied specialty, weighted proportion of texts in both languages, taking into account the level of proficiency of tandem partners.
