In the context of the problem of theodicy (Augustine, Leibniz) the paradoxical combination of omnipotence and infinite goodness of God is accepted by believers with the help of irrational feeling as the truth, whereas in the framework of the synergistic philosophy of history such a combination is a contradiction. The relevance of both theodicy and cliodicy for people is linked with the problem of freedom and meaning of life and death as well. With the development of society theodicy is turning into cliodicy (Hegel, V. P. Branskiy) because the problems of meaning of life and freedom move to the category of historical phenomena that appeared to be a consequence of historical progress and society organisation in which the possibility of increasing cruelty and violence is excluded (super-attractor by V. Branskiy).
