The paper presents the English oil and gas terminology formed in the metaphoric way.
The comparison with Russian, English and German terms is given. The authors analyse
the stages of teaching terminological vocabulary to oil and gas department students. As
a result, the authors reveal three main stages of teaching oil and gas terminology with
samples of tasks and exercises.
