The Russian Language from the Lomonosov’s Era to the Present

 The article’s focus is on the role of M. V. Lomonosov in the formation of modern Russian language. M. V. Lomonosov is rightfully considered a reformer and a founding father of the Russian philology, as well as the first secular writer whose works were regarded as a language norm. The most important characteristics of the Russian
language development were in one way or another connected with Lomonosov’s works in the area of language studies. The article also gives a short review of the processes that have been unfolding in the Russian language within the past few decades.
