COMMON CULTURAL COMPETENCES AS COMPONENTS OF THE INNOVATION POTENTIAL OF A TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY STUDENT

 The paper demonstrates the necessity of implementing educational methods and 
techniques that make use of the potential of the disciplines of the basic technical 
university curriculum in order to develop students’ metacognitive skills and abilities 
ensuring metacognitive self-regulation and metacognitive awareness as components of common cultural competences. The development of metacognitive experience within 
the framework of educational activity is considered to be one of the conditions for the 
formation and development of common cultural competences of technical university 
students, which act as components of their self-determination potential which, in its turn, makes up a part of the innovation potential.
