 Analysing relevant psychological and pedagogical literature, the authors formulate the
definition of the “psychological barrier” phenomenon in foreign language learning,
describe the sources of its origin and determine the main directions of the learning
process optimisation ensuring the creation of favourable conditions to overcome the
