The article explores the method and findings of the qualitative evaluation of the current state of collective consciousness of the socium through the information activity of society. The author operates with a factor of population growth per unit of time. With
reference to examples from the history of France, Great Britain and Russia, the article demonstrates a close correlation of population growth dynamics and the information activity of society, as well as a qualitative correlation with the stages of evolution of the collective consciousness of the socium.
