Abstract. The article is devoted to the problems of vocal education in Chinese pedagogical
institutes and colleges, the largest network of musical educational institutions in the country.
The conclusions are based on the author’s personal observations. A wide range of issues is
noted: from the lack of highly professional university teaching staff to the lack of studying
foreign experience. The role of achievements of Russian vocal education, its educational and methodological base is particularly emphasised.
