Abstract. The article studies the songs glorifying the achievements of the revolution and
praising the wise leader during the years of the Cultural Revolution. Songs that the new
generation is ready to reject as a product of ideologisation, in fact, remain popular among
the people. The reasons for this popularity, according to author, lie in the specifi city of the expressive means of songs, on the one hand, and in traditional thinking, on the other hand. The expressive structure of the songs is based on the union of national intonation with the simplest song harmony, already included in the cultural thesaurus. The lyrics of the songs also do not look “ordered”, they are fi lled with sincere feelings that are not subject to fl uctuations of the political pendulum.
