THE PROBLEM OF TEACHER’S PERSONALITY IN MODERN FOREIGN PSYCHOLOGY

The article is devoted to the problem of teacher’s personality in foreign psychology. The
authors substantiate the relevance of this theme and examine modern Russian literature There is an insufficient number of publications devoted to psychological and pedagogical
foreign research. The authors set the goal of reviewing and analysing foreign works on
the problem of teacher’s personality and identify several areas of research: the structure of teacher’s personality, individual personal traits, key competencies, teachers’ theories and beliefs on students, the relationship between teacher’s professional activity and organisational environment. It is concluded that when understanding the phenomenon of teacher’s personality foreign authors use the factorial theory of personality “Big Five” and the competence approach.
