The article is devoted to the problem of stress resistance and adaptive potential in the
formation of a young specialist-teacher. The teacher profession is among stressful
occupations, and in order to optimise the formation of a young specialist, it is required
to examine the relationship of stress resistance with adaptive potential and personal characteristics, which will help a young specialist to be actively involved in a professional environment, to develop and improve professional competence, and will help a teachermentor to organise psycho-pedagogical support of novice teachers.
