THE DEVELOPMENT OF CREATIVE THINKING OF LIBRARY WORKERS: THE HISTORICAL JOURNEY

The article deals with the history of book storage and preservation of information over
the centuries. The authors define the creative activity of librarians, their acquisition of
new results of book storage, starting from the libraries of the Sumerian civilisation to
modern library and information systems of the early 21st century. The article reveals the
content of creative thinking of library workers, shows the process of its evolutionary
development, the complexity of professional tasks in the library and information space.
