The article describes the experience of conducting special classes in the
course “World Artistic Culture” based on the examples of the fine arts for the
spiritual and moral development of high school students. The exhibited works are
subject to careful consideration and analysis in the course of communication
between a teacher and students to identify the aspects of the content of the paintings.
The unique role of the artistic expressiveness of the artist’s pictorial language and
moral and evaluative position is noted during the discussion. The process
accentuates the social and psychological functions of the art. Such a methodology
allows students to enter the modern world of human relations adequately.
