The paper is devoted to publishing the memoirs of the famous
Soviet critic G. Kogan. The author emphasizes importance of
his work in the historical aspect., The author highlights the
multifaceted activity of the musician, his role in the develop-
ment of performing musicology (interpretation) from a new
perspective. The paper emphasizes the polemical sharpness
of the musician’s creative position, the role of his critical
heri tage, signifi cance of the psychological factor in his state-
ments.
