Musical psychoacoustics is related to acoustics and psychology; it
studies perception of musical sounds through the senses (hearing) and
their infl uence on the psyche and human behavior. The paper substan-
tiates the physical sound constants, called resonances, which under
certain acoustic conditions can affect the consciousness of a subject
or an entire social group. These resonances are not spontaneously
reproduced impulses, but a logically consistent concept, deliberately
formed in the consciousness of the individual and (or) the commu-
nity. For a man of the conventional culture, sound is considered from
the standpoint of “living» energy, through which an individual can
communicate with the Absolute. Sacredness of this contact lies in a
specifi c ritual of sound reproduction, whereas the authentic natural
qualities of resonances enhance the psychological effect on the sub-
consciousness.
