The paper is dedicated to piano concerto No. 2 by
A. Wiklund, which presents a specifi c embodiment of the
historical tendencies of the genre in early XXth century.
Undeservedely forgotten in our time, this opus contains
some stylistic traits, which have infl uences of European
and Scandinavian professional music, which are very dif-
ferent in their genesis. This synthesis is very organic in
Wiklund’s composition because of its unique concept and
formal structure.
Keywords: A. Wiklund, monocyclic composition of the piano concerto, indissoluble architectonic structure, typical traits of Scandinavian musical culture.
