The article is devoted to different variants of terminological
naming of the instrumental case in constructions of the type
“vysok rostom” (“of high height”). Based on the analysis of
linguists’ views on the semantics of the instrumental case in
similar constructions, it is concluded that the most successful
name for this phenomenon would be “the instrumental case
with the meaning of restriction”.
