The paper illustrates the possibilities of using classical music to increase the efBciency
of class work performed by students of various ages. The author describes the results
of a quick experiment, which included background listening to classical works at the
lessons of Technology, Art, Russian, Literature and History in a comprehensive school.
The results demonstrate both positive and negative aspects of the musical impact on
students depending on the speciBcs of their substantive activity. The most effective ways
of interaction of musical accompaniment with the planned class work are identiBed. The
author proposes an optimal strategy for using this method, which helps to stabilise the
emotional state of the participants in the educational process, maintain positive
educational motivation, improve students’ concentration and increase the quality of class
work at comprehensive school.
