The paper discusses modern projects in the fi eld of choreography, which are interrelated with art museums. It is this creative, largely subjective, controversial dialogue between the museum and dance, accompanied by the comments of art historians, choreographers, artists, that is considered in the material presented. Using the creative analysis of the modern experience of dance practices, it is possible to determine those principles and trends that are destined to breathe new life into the museum space. The examples of organizing a museum space in cooperation with plasticity theater directors clearly demonstrate that modern visual strategies, associated primarily with its interactive substance, affect the museum communicative and exhibition space in different ways. The choreographic performance is analyzed as part of a diverse event in the territory of the cultural and historical museum complex; the inclusion of dance in the dynamics of the museum’s interior spaces; integration of the choreographic performance, theatrical performances into the exhibition space; invitation by the museum of artists, choreographic schools and studios to conduct regular classes and master classes within the museum to popularize its collections, and other examples of interaction between the dance and the art museum. Relying mainly on the national experience in using museums, the author assesses main trends of the choreographic activity, which can be mutually transformed so that the museum and dance function successfully in the modern conditions and build a new communicative space with the audience.
