The paper deals with a set of documentary materials, which are the source basis
for the study of ethnic and national nomenclature — leaders of the Communist
party-Soviet apparatus of the North Ossetian ASSR in 1945-1953.The focus is on
archival documents from the stocks of the State Archive of Modern History in the
Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and the Central State Archive of the Republic
of North Ossetia-Alania. The authors characterize the layout of the documenta-
tion and its information potential. The paper assesses the prospects of using the
documentary complex to study the socio-professional image of the regional Soviet
Party nomenclature, channels of control over the North Ossetian leaders by the
Central Committee of the CPSU, relations between the Center and regional party
