Phenomenon of Synthesis between Graphic Art and Fashion

For modern artistic practices including fashion, synthesis between 
different kinds of art is an important vector of development. 
Graphic art as an essential part of costume history infl uences for-
mation and presentation of fashion tendencies. Graphic heritage is 
a source of costume stylistic development research; it is also a tool 
for implementing a designer’s creative potential and a resource for 
formation of fashion tendencies. The article considers not only a 
special role of project and accompanying (fashion illustration) 
graphics, but also the use of graphic art heritage as a source of 
“novelty” in fashion formation, where the basic tools are methods 
of citation, interpretation, borrowing and collaboration.
