The authors of the article prioritize identifying the most signifi cant
components of the syntactic structure of a poetic text, clarifying how
they affect its pragmatic interpretation. Analyzing the excerpts from
Rilke’s poems, it was confi rmed that syntactic expressiveness is directly
linked with the structural models of the German language sentence.
Although the materials of this article do not set the goal to study all the
syntactic features of a poetic text from the standpoint of their pragmatic
aspect, the review and analysis of interaction between syntactic and
pragmatic devices can be regarded as one of the research methods of
not only poetic, but also other types of texts contributing to solving
problems of pragmatic interpretation.
Keywords: R. M. Rilke, pragmatic interpretation, syntactic constructions, author`s
intentions.
