The notion “ideopractice” (introduced by V. Kravchenko) is considered in the paper
as a factor of determination of social transformations. Ideopractice is understood as an
individual route of a social actor, a way of its social survival based on a minimal complex
of individually important ideas. The paper shows that a social action, considered in terms
of the theories by M. Weber and A. Giddens, is not the same as ideopractice, and social
transformations are complex processes taking place in the lines of convergence and delimitation of ideopractices and social actions, which ultimately deBnes the essential directions of social development.
Key words: social transformation, ideopractice, social action, social actor, ideology,
social development.
