The article examines the influence of the gender identity of university students on the relationship of self-acceptance with the choice of behaviour strategies in conflict situations. The approaches to the definition of conflict and conflict resolution strategies are analysed. The differences between gender (aggregate of cultural and social norms) and biological gender are shown. It is revealed that gender self-determination influences the choice of behaviour strategies in conflict situations and can be a factor in overcoming conflicts. Self-acceptance can influence the development of a person both positively and negatively: a general positive background of self-perception leads to creation, and a negative self-assessment of one’s personal qualities leads to self-destruction. The authors experimentally reveal the differences between the respondents in the choice of behaviour strategies in conflict situations, depending on gender and self-acceptance.
Key words: self-acceptance, conflict, behaviour strategy in conflict, gender.
