The article considers development of the healthcare system of Komsomolsk-on-Amur during the Great Patriotic War. The main activities of medical institutions were: assistance to wounded servicemen, training of medical personnel in the military fi eld surgery,
anti-epidemiological work, medical and sanitary services for city’s enterprises of the defense industry. The article focuses on the selfl ess contribution of outstanding doctors to the development of the healthcare system in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
