The article is devoted to studying theaterization principles embodied in the artistic and imaginative work of the famous painting “Allegory of Spring” by S. Botticelli (1482, “Uffizi Gallery, Florence”) in the context of the theatrical culture of early Renaissance, and particularly the one of Florence, where the artist lived and worked. The author reveals interrelations at the level of the structural elements between the composition and the whole painting concept; considers semantic and artistic consistency of the characters, specifi es methods and techniques of image formation within the framework of the painter’s own style.
