The article discusses parenthetical insertions as a means of coherence
of a text. In terms of grammatical cohesion, a very important role is
played by parenthetical insertions, because their different types help
to connect parts of the text together. We came to a conclusion that
being a very strong and powerful means of cohesion, parenthetical
insertions help to create discourse in all its richness and diversity of
linguistic meanings that are used for a particular discourse.
