PECULIARITIES OF EXPRESSION OF EMPATHY BY SCHOOLCHILDREN WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY

Emotional development of students with intellectual disabilities today attracts the
attention of many specialists, but some aspects of this problem require further, deeper
development. The article is devoted to the features of expressing empathy by mentally
retarded students. Empathy occupies a special place among the higher, socially signifcant feelings and is formed with great diffculty in case of mental retardation. The materials of this study can be successfully used in organising the educational process in a special (correctional) school.
