The process of electronic exchange between impurity tin atoms in PbSxSe1–x solid solutions is considered in the framework of microscopic models of two-electron tin centers in PbS and PbSe. It is shown that the exchange process involves the simultaneous transfer of two electrons using delocalized valence band states.
