The article explores the basic values of socialism and its reality,
development of imaginary object and changes taking place in the art
as embodied in the oil paintings. The author reviews a significant
role that the socialist values have played in the development of the oil
painting art and the impact of the Soviet system of art education on
the development of the Chinese oil painting art.
